The lake is of glacial origin and it plunges to a depth of 410 metres (approx. 1,345 feet) making it the deepest lake in Europe. Lake Como is shaped like an inverted Y and therefore has three distinct branches: to the north the Colico branch, to the south east the Lecco branch and to the south west the most famous branch, that of Como. Lake Como boasts the longest perimeter of all the lakes due to this distinctive upside down Y shape – a total of 171 kilometres. The lake is surrounded by mountains with the highest peak being Mt.Legnone (approx. 8,600 feet high) which dominates the town of Colico at the northern tip of the lake. The most important river is the Adda which is also the lake’s only outlet. Across the shores from Menaggio, is Varenna where “Fiumelatte”, considered to be the shortest river in Europe flows. Leonardo da Vinci wrote about the Fiumelatte in his Atlantic Code as “Fiumelaccio” – he was baffled by the fact that this river flows for just a few weeks of the year, in springtime. From Varenna the south-eastern branch flows towards Lecco, a town made famous by Alessandro Manzoni, an important Italian novelist who wrote the “Promessi Sposi” (The Betrothed), a love story set on the shores of Lake Como. This part of the lake is not as popular as the rest of the lake and has several pebbly beach areas. In the central area of Lake Como, at the point where the chain of mountains that separate the south eastern branch from the south western one ends, is Bellagio, the “Pearl of Lake Como”. Bellagio has been described as one of the prettiest villages in Europe with its characteristic cobbled alleyways and steps adorned with shops, bars and restaurants as well as the fabulous Villas Melzi and Villa Serbelloni (property of the Rockfeller Foundation since 1959). Returning to Como from Bellagio you come across some interesting villages such as Nesso with its spectacular waterfall and the bridge of the Civera, then Torno with the Villa Pliniana. The capital town of Como appears majestically before your eyes as you leave the characteristic village of Blevio. Campione d’Italia is a small Italian enclave in Swiss territory, south of the Ticino region with 3,000 inhabitants. 7 kms from Lugano, the capital town of the lake. Campione d’Italia is officially under the Province of Como and has a lovely lakeside promenade as well as some beautiful little churches. Daniela Tanzi lake Como wedding photographer, as an international wedding photographer (not just a photographer of Lake Como of course), today, I want to present a beautiful Persian wedding. The venues were enchanting: Hotel Regina Palace and Grand Hotel Borromes in Stresa. The ceremony was “sofre aghd” of about 1 hour with entertainments of a quartet of strings (Violins), chair cover set up, wedding decoration and flowers arrangements.There was a beautiful aperitif in the garden of the Regina Palace in Stresa, accompanied by a piano for guests and spouses. The dinner with the guests, about 100, was in the New Liberty Room of the Regina Palace hotel in Stresa. Then as an international wedding photographer I photographed  the cake cutting, speeches, the first dance, wedding dance with dads, groom dance with mom and dance with friends. Good vision! Persian wedding: Yegi and Edi, by Daniela Tanzi Wedding Photographer So, what happens at a Persian wedding? “Similar to Western weddings, in Persian culture weddings are broken into a ceremony and reception,” notes Kazemburg. “The most notable tradition in a Persian wedding ceremony is the sofreh aghd.” However, the rich cultural traditions begin even before the sofreh aghd at a traditional Persian wedding. Below, we dive into the most notable Persian and Iranian wedding traditions. Historically, khastegāri was the first step in the traditional Iranian courtship process. The Persian wedding custom has changed and evolved in modern times—now khastegāri marks a couple’s unified decision to marry and their announcement to that end to their families. Following the couple’s decision to wed, baleh borān is the public announcement of their engagement. Persian wedding: Yegi and Edi by Daniela Tanzi Wedding Photographer During a traditional Persian and Iranian with Persian wedding: Yegi and Edi wedding ceremony, the couple will be seated by sofreh aghd which is the Persian wedding table. It is laden with many different elements that each carry rich symbolism. If you’ve ever heard of Persian wedding noise, that’s what kelling is. During this part of the wedding ceremony, the officiant asks for the couple’s consent to enter into a marriage contract. Traditionally, the officiant will first ask the groom to which he responds balé, or yes. Following that, the officiant will ask the bride for her consent and this part of the ceremony is filled with some jest. The goal is for the bride to make her partner nervous about her answer, so she will stay silent and withhold a yes for a moment. Once the bride does respond in consent, the wedding guests will start joyfully kelling (or cheering with a lee-lee-lee sound) and clapping. Following the Persian wedding ceremony, with Persian wedding: Yegi and Edi the couple will invite their guests to celebrate with a wedding reception. Persian wedding receptions are generally filled with lots of merriment and plenty of dancing. These cakes are often called Persian love cakes. The Persian wedding knife dance is a tradition where the couple must retrieve a knife from dancer so they can cut the wedding cake. During this lighthearted tradition, dancers, usually a bridesmaid, groomsman or young guest, will tease the couple and keep passing the decorative knife around to other attendees. Sometimes the groom may bride the dancer to obtain the knife. The good-humored Persian knife dance continues until the dancer hands over the knife. “The bridesmaids held the knife and danced around [my husband],” recalls one bride of the Persian knife dance at her wedding. “He needed to tip them and offer gifts in order to show his love for me and that he could provide for me. Each element included on the Persian wedding table is a reminder of the multifaceted nature of relationships and the depth of the couple’s commitment to each other. The inclusion of a mirror symbolizes bringing light and brightness into the couple’s future. During the ceremony, the couple typically looks into the mirror together. Diana & Noah and the beautiful Jewish wedding on Lake Como

Dear readers and visitors of my blog, today I would like to introduce you the story of Canadian Diana & Noah for a beautiful Jewish wedding on Lake Como by Daniela Tanzi –  lake Como wedding photographer. The preparation took place at the prestigious Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Tremezzo, Lake Como. The bride and her beautiful bridesmaids have chosen the elegant and spacious top floor suite. After getting dressed with the boat we reached Villa del Balbianello, a famous venue for exclusive weddings on Lake Como. The wedding was Jewish performed by Mrs. Martina, the rabbi. I took several photos at Villa del Balbianello to remember the best moments of this fantastic couple. After the dinner in the Loggia also at Villa del Balbianello, the cutting of the cake was carried out, the fireworks on Lake Como and the romantic first dance. Good vision at all. The preparation, getting ready of the beautiful bride took place at Villa Cipressi in Varenna, lake Como. After that we took the famous boats of Lake Como and we reached Villa del Balbianello, Lake Como for the ceremony, kisses, hugs and lots of photos. The dinner ended once again at Villa Cipressi in Varenna, Lake Como. Good vision! For your special wedding write to me! The magnificent complex of buildings and gardens, created and built between 1400 and 1800, today represents a perfect and harmonious combination of ancient and modern functionality, made possible by a careful restoration by the R Collection Hotels Group which has seen the pre-existing architectural lines maintained.
